Lenbrook Vaccination – Associate Videos and Education

January 19, 2021

Updated 1/21/21

In today’s video, you’ll hear why some of your fellow associates are taking the COVID-19 vaccine to protect not only themselves, but the community in which they work, and why. Tune in to hear their vision for the future:  for making our work environment safer, getting back to seeing smiling faces, regaining some sense of normalcy, and feeling a sense of purpose by making an impact on the greater community.

Maybe their stories will help you on your research journey.  Plus, check out the credible resources that are shared at the end of the video and on the lenbrookalerts.org site.  There’s still time to sign up for the January 28th vaccine clinic, where we will be administering the PFIZER vaccine.  Complete your Walgreens consent form and turn it in to your manager – it’s free!

Yesterday, you heard your fellow associates sum up, in one word, the most important factor that influenced their personal decision to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

Today, you’ll hear from them again.  Like you, they had concerns, hesitations, and questions.  In this video, they provide insight about those concerns and how they overcame them to make their own informed decisions.

Dear Lenbrook Associates

It is hard to believe we have been living through this pandemic since March of 2020.  Thank you to each one of you who continue to show up every day to support one another and to provide essential services to our residents. We know everyone has faced challenges throughout this pandemic and we thank you for your commitment and dedication.   We will continue to successfully move through this pandemic and, we will do so together.

As many of you know, we had our first COVID-19 vaccine clinic on January 14th.  Our partnership with Walgreens Pharmacy allowed us to vaccinate a total of 382 residents and associates at that initial clinic. We will have our next COVID-19 vaccine clinic to administer the first of the two-dose vaccine on January 28th.  At this next clinic we will be able to provide vaccines to another 380 members of the Lenbrook community – residents, associates and other stakeholder groups – who want access to the vaccine.

However, we know you may have questions, concerns or hesitations about this vaccine.  After talking with a number of associates, we were inspired by their journey to conduct their own research and the personal “why” which led them to take the vaccine.  We thought their stories might help you as you conduct your own research to make an informed decision for yourself.

Over each of the next four days, we will share a short video featuring a variety of your fellow associates.  We will also share additional educational resources that can be found at the end of each video and on the Lenbrookalerts.org site.  If you decide you would like to participate in the January 28th vaccine clinic, you may still sign up.  Click here to go to the Walgreens consent form, or you can obtain one from The Clinic or your manager.

Finally, you may have heard in today’s news that out of an abundance of caution California health officials paused the use of one lot of the MODERNA vaccine while they investigate reactions less than 10 individuals experienced after receiving a vaccine from this particular lot of vaccine.

Those who participated in the last clinic or in the upcoming scheduled clinics at Lenbrook, have or will receive  the PFIZER vaccine.  It is still early in the MODERNA investigation and this is what we know at this time.

For any updates about the COVID-19 vaccine or any COVID-19 updates, please review the presentations from the weekly virtual Town Hall meeting.

Please click below to hear from your peers as they share their “Why” as it relates to the COVID-19 vaccine.
