A Message From Lenbrook’s Chairman of the Board

April 2, 2020

Lenbrook residents, staff, families, and guests –

On behalf of the Lenbrook board, I want to thank you for your trust during this difficult time in American history, and indeed in the history of the world.  Please be assured that the Board is staying in close communication with Lenbrook’s management team to listen to the actions they have taken and to provide guidance when it is requested.  At times like these, I am very grateful for the talented and knowledgeable team at Lenbrook.  You are in very good hands.

In my day job, I have spent the past month providing guidance to investors as they seek to navigate these very choppy investment market waters.  Over and over again, my counsel to them has been to do nothing, as we have an investment plan and we are still executing on that plan.  The advice to do nothing is hard to hear, and is hard for me to give, because as humans, we are programmed to solve problems.  When something is wrong, we are supposed to fix it.  In the case of investing, now is a good time to do nothing.  However, in the case of living at Lenbrook we can and must do something.

There are three things that all Lenbrook residents can do to help in the fight against the Covid-19 virus.  First, follow the suggestions of the CDC and the Department of Public Health.  Wash your hands frequently, maintain physical distancing, cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, and stay home if you are feeling unwell.  If you are unwell, please CALL the clinic as opposed to visiting the clinic.

Second, follow the guidelines issued by Atlanta’s mayor and Georgia’s governor.  The primary takeaway here is to stay on Lenbrook’s campus unless it is absolutely necessary to leave.  Frankly, the safest place in Atlanta for you right now is probably Lenbrook.  While we have already seen Covid-19 in our community, and we will likely see more, we know what steps are being taken to protect our community, and we just can’t say the same thing about the rest of the city.

The third and final thing you can do to help in the fight is to listen to the guidance and follow the requests of Lenbrook’s management team.  These unprecedented times have led to some unprecedented requests from management, but they are for the good of the entire community.  All of management’s requests have been heard by the board, and we support them fully.  Please don’t ask management to make an exception for you, regardless of the circumstance.  If you leave the campus, for example, please self-isolate, in your apartment,  for 14 days afterwards.  Any wilful or repeated violations of any of management’s expectations for residents will be taken very seriously by the board, and the board is prepared to use any and all means at our disposal to discourage those violations.

Please continue to be healthy and safe – thanks for your commitment to the health of everyone at Lenbrook.

Regards,

Tripp Rawls Chairman – Lenbrook Board of Directors
