s of August 4th, Georgia was ranked 4th (no change from last week) in the country with over 24,000 recorded positive COVID cases over the last seven days. Georgia ranks 13th (no change from last week) in the country for COVID–19 deaths by state. (source: CDC.gov) The local communities, particularly Fulton County, are beginning to show a slight decrease in positive cases although increases in positive cases are still very high and it is unknown if that is due to lack of testing resources (as positive cases to total tests has increased.) COVID-19 fatalities in State of Georgia and Fulton County are both rising at an alarming rate.

As of July 29, Georgia was ranked 4th (up from 5th last week) in the country with over 26,000 recorded positive COVID cases over the last seven days. Georgia ranks 13th (up from 15th last week) in the country for COVID–19 deaths by state. (source: CDC.gov). We are in high hazard conditions due to COVID-19, stay safe by: staying home except for essential travel, learning what constitutes a low-risk activity versus a high-risk activity and avoid those high-risk activities, staying six feet away from others and avoid prolonged exposure using masks properly, limiting exposure to those who aren’t practicing these same safeguards.

On June 30th, we advanced to Phase Three of our reopening plan. Given the significant increases in case rates and hospitalizations, we are going to PAUSE and remain in Phase Three. We will not advance to Phase Four at this time. The local communities – State of Georgia and Fulton County – are beginning to show a slight decrease in positive cases although it is unknown if that is due to lack of testing resources (as positive cases to total tests has increased.) There is still a significant rise in COVID-19 hospitalizations over the last three weeks.

As test kits are available in relatively small quantities, Lenbrook is now conducting in-house testing and processing results at an Emory lab. We will conduct resident testing in situations where symptoms are present or when there is a confirmed exposure. We will conduct associate testing for return to work protocols after an initial positive test.
